“A Night to Remember” 2007 Event Materials

A Night to Remember 07

When Empire Events Group contracted with me to produce the design for the 2007 A Night to Remember Event, I was very excited. A gala charity event hosted by the Kristen Ann Carr Fund, “A Night to Remember” has a long history of unique design motifs. The graphics had to express the idea of a fun party, an upscale night out and have some tie in back to the honoree of the evening.

For 2007, the honoree worked for Shore Fire Media, a boutique public relations and marketing firm. I picked up on the colors from that company’s identity and used “media” as the theme for the imagery.

The format of the invitation was set by previous year’s pieces and consisted of a poster on one side and event information on the other. It then folded down into a smaller, mailable size. By using the TVs as a motif, I was able to create an unbalanced composition that added interest and distinction to that year’s materials. I was also able to illustrate many aspects of the “party” while keeping the overall image fairly simple.

In addition to the invitation materials, the design had to extend to an auction guide, journal, t-shirt and gift bag.
