Lucas Wojciechowski (voy•ja•hoff•skee) has quite literally grown up with the web. Born only a couple years apart, he and the Web have had a long time get to know one another. After creating his first homepage in 5th grade on Geocities (as much as he might want to forget), Lucas has been hooked on web development. A supportive family consisting almost entirely of engineers and relentless enthusiasm have helped him to stay on top of the latest trends in technology.
After a brief foray into the realms of game development, becoming a major contributor to the (now discontinued) MMORPG engine Elysium by the age of 12, he has now devoted himself to learning all there is to know about web development. He has spent untold hours of free time tinkering with the fascinating underpinnings of the Web 2.0 revolution — everything from AJAX to enterprise content management systems to database management.
A recent graduate of Duxbury High School and incoming freshman at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, he has big plans for a future in software engineering. While he’s undecided about his exact career path at this point, his dream jobs are programming at the Googleplex (Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California) or putting his minor in physics to work at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.
During those rare moments when he’s not hacking away on his beloved MacBook, Lucas enjoys himself by training for all manners of running races and triathlons. A veracious mid-distance runner, long time swimmer, and breakout cyclist, nothing gives him more joy than going really really fast.
You can find out more at his personal home page (no longer on Geocities, don’t fear!) or twitter.
